[QUOTE=bioGuru;2026121]"Serviceman shipping out" is not always a scam (know of on MHer who got a good deal on a bike cause of deployment) but if they are not local then they almost certainly are...

Yep. That is how I got a very sweet deal on my 08 FZ6. Army guy having to deploy to Iraq and needed to sell his bike with a week before he had to leave. I met up with him at CycleGear and FlipSideUp brought his trailer and we did the paperwork in the parking lot and I paid him his cash. Saved about $2500 dollars on the price as well and he had added Leo Vince exhaust which is an additional $600-800 to the price savings.

i always know its a scammer just by reading what they say… they almost always say awkward things just like the guy in that ad says…like " i would need you to" or something that just doesn't sound right.

it can be legit. at first i thought it was my friends brother going back to iraq. since he is is going back to "front lines" he gets all sorts of combat, and hazard duty pay...he says if i come back out alive, he got a ton of money for a new bike..if i dont come back, then he dont. so he was selling his gxxr 600 for the same price, but its not orange, his is yellow. if you cant use the money, and its going to sit. sell cheap. thats what i do.

rare, but sometimes good deals are true.

nobody picked up my seca II, even though i kept reducing price. i was SO desperate for money, one guy offered me 800 cash for it. SOLD. cherry bike for 97 too :(

good deals are out there, you just have to get all the information, and jump on it.
