We are staying in Pflugerville, just NE of Austin, so anywhere in that area should be good...

Here is one option:

Comfort Suites Austin
15112 FM 1825
Austin, TX 78660
800-424-6423

The agenda is to ride about 315-350 miles on Monday to Austin, then 260 miles or so back... minimal highway. Other than that it's all about the ride!!!

Chris has some roads north of Austin he wants to check out; the rest is "known" good roads to get there and back.
