88"HURRICANE 1000 ( crashed ) / 98"Z-71 1500 4x4 / 06" Nissan Sentra Spec - V 6 Speed / ZX-7 Ninja

Question 98 ZX-7 Ninja Question!!!

Got a question Dudes and Dude-etts...

I have a 1998 ZX-7 Ninja and my engine is blown... I never had any bike under a 1000... Can a ZX-9 or preferably a ZX-10 Ninja engine fit in my ZX-7 frame? And if so what year does it have to be?

Thank You Everyone!!!

Why dont you just buy a ZX9, ZX10??? Why put a 9 or 10 motor in a 7 frame. Never understood that.

Go to kawiforums-->ZZR and Old School ZX forum --->then there is a master swappable parts list for 95-97 and 98-02 as a sticky.

03 ZX7R
Cannondale R600 & Killer V900 (1HP....thats Human Power) has a kit for it.

You need an engine from a '94-'97 ZX9R. Post '97 ZX9R engines will not fit as the engine mounts are very different.

the frame erogonomics on the 7R were better handling than the 9...

and yeah a 94-97 will almost bolt right in. you can get a zx11 motor in there too if you want... i used to have a zx7-11... it was alot of fun
