Cooling Fans

So today I was riding my Ninja 250r and when I got home and put it in the garage. When I shut the engine the Fans were on and going really hard. I am new to motorcycle but have had the bike since Jan and it has never done this, the fans stayed on even though the bike was off. I had to turn the bike on then Off again. Once I did that the fans shut off. Can anyone tell me if this is normal?.

On the Kawis and some other models they will run for a short time after the key is off if the bike is hot enough.
Nothing to worry about.

I've heard that also (what pat said)

On a sportbike the fan usually kicks on about ~212 F. Keep an eye on your radiator fluid and overflow, without it that bike will run extremely hot. Check your fluids weekly.

+1 with kawi fans running without the key.

Motorcycles don't disperse heat very well while idling, because all the coolant is located in a small area. (Not like cagers who have miles of hose). Not sure why all bikes don't have this feature, unless they just flow coolant much better than Kawis??????
