lol yes they do burn well.

If you notice something though in the video the people stopping off on the left side of the video cause a second bike to go down. This is why it is important when you see someone crash is not to stop because you may cause a traffic jam on the one line people need to take to avoid the crash.

Fill it with water instead of gasoline.

it's not they didn't know how to use them, it's the fact that they were using the wrong type of extinguisher. it was completely ineffective.

here's another example, almost same situation. exact same type of bike. r6 owners beware.

They make tank sliders to help with this. Most are pretty ugly looking but if you track a lot, they are a must have for the 06+ r6's.

I've seen a few pics of tank silders after going down and they seemed to serve their purpose well.

Still sux though. This vid scared me pretty bad before I found the tank sliders....

the reason why they couldnot take the fire out is because megnesium and most of its alloys are so reactive that what once ignited they continue burning in water and CO2; so carbondixode or water based extiguishers will just feed the flame rather than taking it out.

This is why CMRA rules require tank sliders on all 06-07 YZF-R6 bikes. (Tank sliders are also "recommended" on 08 YZF-R6s and 07-08 Kawi ZX-6Rs.)

It's been going on for a while:
