He's got it right. When I was swapping my exhaust we started it up real quick with no slip-on and it sounded ok . . . . in the garage. It's a noise I would get tired of very quickly. Search on here, and/or on kawiforums(more with your bike) and you can see what a cut pipe will look like. It'll look better, be safer, and be a little louder. With some searching Youtube will probably have a soundclip or two as well.

You may think it sounds good without, but it DOES NOT!!!!!

Believe me, I'm all about loud pipes ... that sound good!!!! But everytime I hear a bike, or car, without muffler(s), I just want to "earmuff" myself and punch the rider/driver!!!!

It's extremely annoying. I hate riding in groups where some squid is riding with us without a slip-on, or what barely amounts to a muffler. It's even more annoying realizing that they think they're cool as sh*t.

This does remind me of something, though! When I was about 14 or 15, my buddies and I took off the mufflers on our dirt bikes (actually, I didn't own one, but I always borrowed my friend's RM80). We thought it sounded bad-*ss, so we rode all around town like little punk-*sses. Finally the local cops caught up to us, and lit us up! So off we went... and the chase was on!! No problem... get off the road, and into the woods we go. "Try to chase us now, coppers!"

Got back to my friend's house, I got on my bmx bike, and rode back home. My 2 buddies and their parents each got a visit from the po-po a few minutes later, but I was scott-free!!

Yes, I was a kid once. But then, I guess that may also be the point... it's childish and stupid. And I don't think you're 15, are you?
