I'll bet that a stock 09 R1 with a full exhaust will sound quite similar. Have you heard them with the stock exhaust on them, yet? They resemble that M1 sound a little.

Big Bang, it's all in the firing order, bigger pulses with larger breaks in between to help give the tire a fraction more time to gain grip....
You should have that looked at....
