I believe so, it is also rumored that Jake Zemke is riding a CBR1000 in WSBK for the same team.

Look at Sofogulu... first ride on the 600 in a year and he's in 5th place already!

There is no doubt the boy can ride, I just think he doesn't gel with the CBR1000 because he was dominant on the 600. I hope he does well next year on the 600... should be a great season!

Hayes can definitely ride, it's nice to see that on a level playing ground (new track for everyone) he's showing what he can really do!!

American Hayes Leads World Supersport Race, Finishes Fourth

American Josh Hayes just put on a stirring display in the World Supersport race here in Portugal. Qualifying well, he was well within the top ten when the race started and worked his way up into the top three--leading briefly--on a bike that looked to be down on top speed as compared to the WSS machines he was racing against.

Hayes grabbed the lead after timing a three-bike draft into turn one perfectly. Humorously, he took his hand off the left clip on after grabbing the lead and waved 'come on you bastards' to the rest of the lead group as they all hurled into turn one.

Later, Hayes found himself embroiled in a late race duel with Catalan rider Joan Lascorz. The pair went at it hammer and tongs for the last ten laps for the final podium position with Hayes in the end unable to will his Parkalgar Honda past the rival machine. Hayes finished fourth, remains a still a brilliant result.

There is a stigma in parts of the World Supersport paddock that believe American riders don't have what it takes to win in this class. For Hayes, having to prove himself to doubters is nothing new, so he grabbed today's race by the bars and wrestled out a fantastic result, one which will no doubt send some Euros on a re-think.

With the exception of Lascorz, the two riders in front of Hayes, race winner Sofuoglu and Pitt, are the former World Supersport and current World Supersport champions, respectively.

Fabrizio took out Biaggi early in the race, with the younger Italian apologizing profusely to his elder for his questionable inside move on the brakes. Bayliss cleared off, raced his pit board and had a seven second lead at one point. A trio of British riders invaded the spots in back of Bayliss early in the race but all faded in the battle to stay with then front-runner Ruben Xaus who went backwards as well.

Utah-winner Carlos Checa made an inspiring run from nowhere to put the ten Kate Honda on the podium.

Bayliss womped em by just two seconds by the time the checkered flag came out.

With the exception of Lascorz, the two riders in front of Hayes, race winner Sofuoglu and Pitt, are the former World Supersport and current World Supersport champions, respectively.

the boy done good
the bike is definately a sniff down on top speed against the Kate Honda's, we saw that often when Jonesy (RIP) was riding the bike.
not sure about the "come on you bastards" comment , I'll wager that was more of a "sorry about that move" but I haven't seen the race
props to Superglue

WSBK better get used to that
Good to see Bayliss win in his last event, I hope he wins the second too.
Checa!!!!!! didn't see that coming
Rea should be pleased
