Seat Shaving

Alright so I talked to a place.... Discount Motorcycle and Tire on Shaver in South Houston / Pasadena area and they referred me to an upholstery shop down the street. I wanted to get it done so badly but this wanted like 230 bucks AND he wanted to keep the BIKE for like 3 days. He said it was because he was really busy and someother . It really aggrevated me and I do believe he is trying to me. I bought this gelseat from that DCM place and figured it would be easier to use that as opposed to the foam seat. anyway, I was wondering if anyone can help me out and lead me to a place that might be able to do this for me. I was looking at cutting at least 1 inch off the seat height this way, ive read many places that this is one of the best ways besides having to lower the bike. Can anyone help?

thx

lots of em

take the seat off, un pin the fabric and install or re-do your seat yourself, when your done playing with the foam and gel, just put the old skin on, pull down tight and re-staple. I did my own seat inserts and restitched mine with the daughters sewing machine. It's not so scary.

agree with trash man above.
Altho have not done it myself have heard of several people doing it themselves. used a sharpie to mark what they want to trim and used an electric knife to trim. sand smooth after and re-attach the skins.

Use an electric knife to cut the foam.

If you need help let me know.
