Best time I had on 2 wheels? Well that was late one night in my 95 Isuzu Rodeo. Needless to say I learned how fast not to drive a SUV around a corner.

Just about every Sunday is my favorite time on my bike, because I get to ride for the pure joy of it. Not commuting, not running errands, just hitting the backroads, either alone or with new friends or regular riding buddies. Today was a great day and it just makes me eager for next Sunday.

Left early on a Thursday morning last summer, headed for Birmingham, Ala. We spent Friday touring the Museum, looking at the track and getting registration out of the way.
Then we did Sat and Sun at Barber. Really a track that is better than words can describe.
Early Monday we left for North Carolina wound up in Robbinsville. We spent 5 days riding all around the area of the "Tail of the Dragon". The weather was perfect and each road seemed better than the last. We road the Blueridge Parkway for about 70 miles, but had to turn back because we were pretty far from our hotel by then.
Then we discovered the "Cherahala Skyway". Fifty miles of smooth pavement wrapped around beautiful smokey mountain scenery and shaped into a continuous succesion of sweeping turns. Awesome.
Much better than the Dragon's Tail.
We waited until the last possible minute to throw our gear back in the van, hitch up the trailer and drive back to Houston nonstop.
An epic trip that I will remember a long time.

The best day had to have been the first day that all of my friends finally got their bikes and we all went out for a ride together.
