An '06 R1.... you are going to have your hands full. Practice being very smooth on the throttle before you get out there. And, read twist of the wrist II to get an idea of some of the things not to do... like chop the throttle when you get scared.

2006 GSXR 1000

I did LMS regular for my first too. No problems. I personally think a 1k is a lot of fun. Rather than only worrying about braking and turning, you ALSO have to be smooth on the throttle when driving out of the corners (unlike a 600).
