well, they both have gps, but the the 3g uses real time satalite gps, as opposed to the 1st gen that uses triangulation for its gps. for those that dont understand what makes the difference; the 1st gen will gps your location usually within 1-2 blocks of your actual standing spot, and the 3g can tell you what room in the house your in!

as far as the other stuff, yea, ive noticed the cosmetic differences ... also, the 1st gen has the aluminum back and the 3G has the black plastic back ... the plastic is better cause the aluminum slips out of your hand easily! ... but ive heard that the aluminum back helps give the internal antenna better reception.

yea, just remember guys ... this phone is like a computer ... you have to restart it every now and then. if you leave your computer or laptop on for a week or two strait it starts running slow ... same here. i restart mine everyday or every other day, just to avoid any lagging or freezing.

You should get a mac. You know how I noticed I love macs. When I randomly looked at my uptime one day and it was at 22 days without a restart.

They have a site you can do it on. But you have to be a Apple Tech with a login to their system. I don't have my account there anymore though. I am sure you could just call the Apple Store or the 1-800 number and they can tell you.

Thanks for the link Greg! Bookmarked....When I worked at CompUSA a few years back we had that same system but you had to login with your technician login to access it.

Yes. but my experience with SwirlyMMS is its a big fat peice of . it never worked right. i could occasionally get a mms out and only was able to ever receive 1 correctly. unless they have updated and fixed all the problems I would not recommend it. I uninstalled it and haven't messed with it since.
