I tried to go cheap the first time also, bought some off of ebay...something like these..Link

Complete junk, the rear stand paddles had rubber covers that began ripping and scratching my swing arms, the front stand was really unsteady, the rubber grips would slide and not grip under the forks and I came close to dropping the bike a couple of times. I trashed them and went Pit Bull, I got the rear off of the WERA site and the other at Cycle Gear, I couldn't pass up the discount I had there.

I would say stay awat from stands that have the rubber covered paddles for the rear and the little pins that go in the bottom of the forks for the front. Go with spools for the rear and something similar to Pitbull for the front.

Those paddles things are , I dropped my streettracker just trying to lift it. (scratched the paint in 2 spots!)
