You know if he was in a main lane and those punk kids pulled out into a main lane the bike has the right away no matter his speed. They are in the wrong period. I read some of the comments on the abc website. Some people have some real nerve to open there mouth.

there was a witness who saw chris before it happend(guy walking dog) and said he was speeding but not hauling or anything. the car was struck in the front fender/driver door. the driver was balling his eyes out, ,he knew he was at fault, his friends were trying to cover it up and make up bs, i dont see a reason why it could posibly not be the cars fault.

Incorrect... sufficient excess of speed resulting in an accident/fatality of the rider could result, in essence, 'suicide'. I can speak, from direct experience in regards to this.

Now if I may Camaro...presuming both parties are in error, time of day (10pm) can we really justify an accusation/claim of murder?

Based on whats provided in this forum and the sites, as usual there is not enough information to provide a truly accurate assessment and demonstrates as with most cases it is not a simple matter of 'black & white' determination.

Speeding? As in 20,30,40 mph over the speed limit as opposed to "hauling ?"

if the motorcycle rider was speeding, at night, it would make it all the more difficult for the car driver to judge his closing speed.

That makes the motorcycle a contributor to the events that killed him.

It's still sad for everyone.

SLOW DOWN AT NIGHT so this doesn't happen to you.

Although what Candy said is true...we, as riders, must anticipate the cager's every move and error.

We must expect them to pull out in front of us, not see us and cut us off etc. in order to survive.

NEVER let your guard down

we can't expect anyone to see and/or hear us.

i know i agree, i posted this right after i got home in hoping to be able to talk to someone about it..... yes christ was speeding, they stated to me at the sceene around 1am that they think he was going around 20 over, the part that got me is that the passengers were lying about what happened.. thats why it made me think like they pulled out last second(as i was pulling up on it a few miliseconds after impact), his bike layed in the middle of the 2 lanes in the direction he was traveling in, the car stoped rolling on the other side of the road, and the car was struck in the front left fender and door area.

I SURE HOPE u aren't suggesting the rider INTENDED ON KILLING himself when he decided 2 speed :/: . Then in that depiction we ALL ARE suicidal when ANY of us go 1mph over the speed limit!

I 2 can't see MURDER being made as an accusation unless these was INTENT which it's obvious there wasn't, but GROSS NEGLIGENCE would seem 2 fit, especially since AGAIN, THE DRIVER ADMITTED HE SAW the oncoming, and in NEGLIENCE, failed to yrow.

If he hit the d/s front door and fender, it sounds like he was headed Eastbound on Holly Hall toward 288 and the car was coming Northbound from El Mundo, so the car had 2 cross his lane of oncoming traffic first giving him less time 2 react, this kid was obviously closer than this car thought cause that's a 4 lane street, he had 2 have hit that car as soon as it entered the right hand lane...what was the extent of the dmg to the car, camaroz2866?

I agree 100% Amber, you've got 2 be an aggressive and an alert driver at all times when riding around specifically at night and within the city, and a HELMET IS A NO BRAINER

Not by any means, in order to understand the comment you need to read the reply in the context of the comment it was addressing.

Closer than the driver or thought, or moving faster than the driver thought?

actually i only saw u MENTION suicide not the previous post, but ok, of which in ANY CONTEXT ur out of line on...

BUT AT ANY RATE....I passed by and snapped a photo of the scene today leaving work. It appears that someone has already erected a small memorial in his honor.

So everyday on my way 2 work i get 2 be reminded someone unfortunately lost there life there, and i'm HOPING this IDIOT who just couldn't wait gets 2 pass by it everyday as well and realizes WHAT a 2 sec wait at that stop sign coulda avoided.

Hardly. In order to understand you have to stop and think and not react based on emotion.

and perhaps you'll also remember the potential hazards of speeding and how that can play into these things also.
IF the rider had not been speeding this accident may not have happened and/or this rider may have survived the accident.
