bike color

I am debating between a black zx-6 and a green zx-6 (both 2006). Pricing is about the same on both bikes.

I like the black bike but my concern is that during the MSF they said black was one of the least visible colors. The green however is bright as and very visible.

So I guess i'm looking for advise from more experienced riders... does the bike color matter much when it comes to visibility ?

black does tend to fade into the background - especially at dusk.

Notice how lots of emergency vehicles and signs are now a shade of green?

a clean black bike is arguably the best looking, but once it starts getting any dirt on it at all, it is real obvious... i'd say green.

On the visibility note the only time that kawi green is going to come into play is from the side. If you look at a bike head on there is very little surface area compared to say a full dress harley which is like a moble home rolling down the rode.....Take a second and turn the key on, so the light will be on as if you were riding, step back and look at both there will be very little of your kawi green showing past that light in a mirror or whenever someone just glances over. That is unless your like Gumby and put LED's on it then i would say you would be hella noticed lol just my 2cents

p.s. my vote is black unless you just got a hankerin' for the green lol ultimately get what you like and are going to be happy with for some time to come

I <3 black bikes. Green is cool though. If you're worried about visibility, you can pick up a hivis vest with reflective strips.

Keep in mind though, if you get the green one, your not going to be very visible while doing wheelies seeing as how the lower fairings are black and your headlight will be pointed at the sky
