Furry Speed Bumps

I had a brown and black blur attempt to beat me accross FM 518 this morning. Since it made a high, screeching "MEEEEEOOOOOOW" and barely upset the chasis, I think it was a small cat. I like cats, so it messed with my head a little. Got me thinking... I've had more strikes and near misses with animals on the bike in the last 5 years than all of my driving experience.

So let's hear some of your personal bests.

Cat(?) this morning
Rabbit in my neighborhood (in front of kids waiting for the bus, too)
One dove to the chest. That one hurt.
Squirrels. Lost count. They are more like targets anyways.

Coyote on FM 149 in the forest
Turkey on FM 336
Momma opossum and her babies. Longest rear tire skid ever (stupid)
Giant Rotty. I stopped for this one. I think he was bigger than my bike.

Just a cat. ran up beside my bike for a while, then tried to cut between the tires. I went back to check on it, but it was gone. . . . so I guess it lived.

Angels saved my a$$ from an animal one night...

VERY new to riding, leaned over in a curve at night, hit roadkill, ENTIRE BIKE SLID SIDEWAYS! I don't know how, but the bike slowly regained traction and didn't highside me to the moon...

I credit , angels, and being used to sliding both wheels on a mountain bike

I almost got peeled of my bike one morning in the middle of Brazoria county by a buzzard. Came haulin round a corner, and I guess he was in a ditch. He jumped me and hit me on the head (with helmet) with his long wing.
I was scared tless. My bud following got the laugh of a lifetime (in his eyes).

Husky 450SMR motard

I was in baton rouge, the first leg of a week long trip with a new boss (total idiot). he gets a flat tire at the hotel (yay) and we go to a shop to get it fixed. I'm staring at a newspaper on the wall, when I see a big rough looking black cat mean-bugging me from a counter-top. just as I start to look away, he leaps off and runs ball-out at me! runs right up to my feet and jumps straight up in the air, punching me in the left knee with his fuzz-fist! he lands, and strolls casually off, having put me clearly in my place. owned and confused. with a paw-full of cat hair on my nice pants.
