Cool Chain Size Type Recommendations

Hey,
I'm looking to get a new chain/sprocket for my 99 CBRF4. Any recommendations on how to select a good chain? I was thinking of the RK Chain and sprocket combo. I see that they offer a 520 and a 525 for the CBRF4. I'm not well read on chains how to understand if i have a good one.

Any advice?
I'm hoping i can get one soon so i can be ready for the next track day.

525 should last longer... unless you're looking for every last advantage to lower your lap times, I wouldn't worry about going to the 520. Just my .02

^^^ +1

The 520 will wear faster and the only advantage is a small reduction in weight, which frees up a tiny bit of HP to accel the bike.
Unless you are a serious racer my .02 is 525.

Stay with the stock 530 set up.
It'll last much longer.

Thanks. I want to do my 1st Track day at MSR Houston and i want to get the dust off my bike. I was use to riding in hill country and since i moved back to Houston, it hasnt seem much road time.

Thanks for the input. I'll look into getting a chain+sprocket kit or just buying separately.

Suprised there are choices like silver and gold chains or annodized sprocket. I guess it all comes down to what you want to pay at this point.

I would get a quality 520 kit for your bike. A good 520 chain is more than strong enough for the '99 CBRF4.
