My dad has been a honda tech for 15-20 years now. First who said they need a tranny? If the D light is flashing, that tranny had a problem with the torque converter going out. If it is staying in gear and won't shift, unplug the ECU I think it is under the carpet under the passenger dash on the floor board. If you let it sit for a while, plug it back in and it shifts, it is the controller/cpu which it will eventually go back out.

If in fact you think/know it is the transmission, don't get it rebuilt. He hasn't found ANYONE on the East side that can rebuild that tranny correctly. He said buy a used one. Green Leaf is his preferred choice as you can purchase warranty on them. Ask for Jeffrey and tell him Kevin Caldwell sent you Acorn salvage and Big Leroy's are his other choices. And if you need a shop to install it, send it to Kingwood at cyber motor cars. If you have any other questions give me a call I will PM you my number.
