also with pushing kid thru school just to say that your passer rate is at standard is the fault of society...when kid act out in todays world parent automactically think they are some kind of problem like ADD, ADHD of some other letter in the alphabet....when i was growing up we didnt have all the visit to the doctor....if i couldd sit down in class and pay attention it was because i bad not sick, and my moma took care of it...not today, they take the kids to doctors and get the kid heavily medicated for no reason instead of raising their kids....

It sucks cause I just had to shell out over $2300 just in ISD taxes this month and I don't even have any kids.

why do you have to pay school taxes if you don't have any kids in school.......... or what if you home school your kids, do you still have to pay school taxes?

Little off topic, but I just paid my taxes today and I'm a little depressed. (about $6500 total )

tax laws are voted on by the people...when there is a vote for different bills for school improvement you have a chance to voice your opinion...

Pearland is decent, but there taxes are way high. like 6% vs 3-4. mainly becuase there's not alot of big business for a tax base.

I'd like them to focus on actually teaching our kids and not worry so much about the dress code.

Yep, through standardized testing. Which is great because we should all live up to the standards set forth by our goverment.

i went K-12 just outside Dallas, i went to college 15 minutes into OKLAHOMA at SOSU, it really surprised me how many people IN MY COLLEGE CLASSES could only read on about a 5th grade level, some couldn't even do that... how the did they get into college!?! i don't understand how there are kids in school now that still can't read!! schools should teach, parents should instill morals, but most parents now leave that to the school to do and that is why kids nowdays don't have any morals. parents should ALSO TEACH AT HOME, i learned alot of what i know from my dad, and watching EDUCATIONAL shows on TV like discovery or something... not the dumb drama shows and cartoons

Gangs are on the rise in the southern part of the U.S. and to try and curtail the heavy influx the yuse the dress code to monitor the schools.....Believe it or not it works....but just think when ur kids go out to get a job and they have to wear a uniform what you think the employers are going to say....
