are you willing to lose $1500 the second they pass you the key? even if you don't plan on selling it - it's still lost it's value. You never know what might come up in the future where you need money, or are forced to sell (parents). I think you are acting on a whim. young/foolish, but then again, i'm the same way... it's like a father trying to tell their son to not make the same mistakes he made as a kid.
Roadracing a dirtbike..? Now that's just stupid! -Dad

Because you are planning to keep the bike for a long time - Get the Green. Don't get the dissapointment that comes with ~ "I wish I had waited"

Also, Buy the new one because it's what you want it and it's your money.

When you are through paying it off and dropping it use it for the track and upgrade to a 600 for street riding.
Deal with it...

here are some cons:
1) Since you have never really rode the bike yet, you really dont know what *is* what you actualyl want. The only way to find out is to try something out... trying something new and expensive out seems likea waste. I'd get something used. Odds are you will need another bike soon

2) There bound to be little "mishaps" with a new rider. Don't get me wrong. If you are safe nothing bad should happen. but you may lay it down here and there... I forgot to put down the kickstand one time and just layed it down in the parking lot... it would be a pity to do with a brand new bike

3) least but not last: new bikes/cars drop in value the fastest...

Not only that, if the bike is dropped you're going to end up paying a LOT for plastics and parts since its a new body style noone else will have them in stock.

Anyways, still awesome that you're getting a bike, new or used. You should go with the Green color, it shouldn't take that long for them to get them in.. it's pretty much the color Kawi's are known for.
