The soft control your talking about, incentives, is the most palatable since it still leaves some measure of choice. I'm just still not convinced that popcon is the answer to our problems. It seems like a stopgap--a bandaid on gangrene--that could have wicked consequences we can't forsee.

I know I tripped off too far into the worm hole with the whole X, Y, Z folks should be sterilized or whatnot, but the attitude is so prevalent. . .it just seems like a road better left untraveled. :/:

What does it resolve other than resources, and aren't there better solutions?

Well I think we should start small, I don;t think we could just jump in and start neutering people.

But we do need to remove the "advantages" to having a kid, to the poor - mid-middle class.

I think it would, less people means more wealth per person

(definition of wealth as used: resources that include but not limited to
1. housing
2. food
3. drinking water)

The real question is, Who will govern the population? Are you ready to give up your right to life? What if the governing body decides to place an age cap? So you hit 70 and it is time to head down to the incinerator. There are many problems with how are population is being developed but, most of them deal with reason and logic.

what we need for population control is to get rid of hemet laws, seatbelt laws.

hmm, mass destruction weapons would be the most efficient cost-effective way to go. Not only would you obliterate millions of humanoids from the face of earth, but the aftermath of the detonations would prevent the creation of future of human generations.
