New turn sig/air dam

So this is what happens when I get bored.

I spend more and more money on silly stuff for the bikes. Got the idea from here to put a mirror set on the busa w/ turn signals built in. this would eliminate the front turnsignals(so long as they are bright enough) and allow me to reinvent the air tunnels.

Since shipping is slow right now, I have not received the mirrors yet. Should be in, uh?.... two days ago... but I understand Holiday schedules. So I just got back from riding in the rain and don't wanna take bike tonight when I go out drinkin(everyone that knows me needs to pick their chin up)

So here's the photoshop ideas.... comments, opinions? those are suppose to be LEDS... plus I don't spend time coloring on the computer... Promise real photos to come...

Sorry, Initial tunnel design will stay the same, it will just have a bevelled tunnel(trumphet style) made of fiberglass from the sides where the turn signals were

i did that to my busa when i had it. didn't really like the amber lights there so had to think of what to do and decided to do that. pain in the to do, but pretty well worth it when it comes to performance and looks. the only problem i faced was if i ride at night, those big holes would take in quite a lot of bugs, or when i rode thru a construction sight or a place where it had a lot of particles in the air...the filter would get dirty faster. it is more of a give and take.

^^^ point taken; I don't have the front screens on mine for a while. I usually just remove the filter and spray in some cleaner and used compressed air to blow it out through the front. As for cleaning; I've never cleaned my bike since I got it in May(13k on it now) just wipe it down...

when i run out of projects I will be forced to chrome the frame, handle grips, stretch, etc...

I'd rather start w/ carbon fiber but I'm not always one for cosmetics...

I have been wanting to integrate the turn signals into some aftermarket mirrors on my FZ6. I just need to find the money and the right mirrors to do it.

Sounds like a good mod to do. I have never seen anyone do that to a Busa to my knowledge.

oh yea, don't know if this applies to you, but if you ride in the rain...be prepared for your air filter to be really wet!

for my mirrors with integrated turn signals, i just ordered a stock set off a gsxr.

ya, been riding this weekend too; I have a drain hole on the bottom of the tunnels where they turn up into the frame to help a little where it collects; but yes, I do have a problem with it cause I even ride in the thunderstorm we get here in the great state of texas...

I'm glad there are other thunderstorm riders out there besides myself. Guys at work are always offering me a ride home if it is raining in the morning. I tell them it's no big deal.

Forget the mirrors above, too small, not enough light...

2 hour mod...
w/o taking out the glass, I cut and installed sidemarker lights that can be easily removed for bulb replacement. Simply drilled through the plastics and aluminum base, ran insulated wiring and soldered into factory connection.

They are very bright, mine came off a bimmer, several different styles;

now all I need to do is fiberglass the old intake tunnels and enlarge them to make the whole front a scoop... soon to come
