gonna take your bike into mexico???... you might not be able to get proper gas for it down there plus the roads are . If you need a front tire and have one why not put it on already.

i dont need it i just have an extra brand new and the roads arent that bad if u cross from laredo, its a tollway so they keep the roads in pretty good conditions

what about the gas...their stuff isn't all that great. I've seen how those people drive down there plus hope you have insurance that covers you riding into mexico incase of an accident or theft.

I would highly recommend against it, unless this is something you worked up to, 8 1/2 hours is not easy.

Never been to Mexico, but I don't think your bike will be very safe.

Like stated before, the gas isn't the best grade either.

But, if you do take the trek, I wish you luck. And, if theres good tread on the tire, I'd leave it on, maybe bring the other one with you in the car, in case you need it.

you asked for opinions...you do know mexico is a 3rd world country right? that means most people don't have insurance and drive like . A nice bike could be a potential target for theft. When I took a trip across mexico there were wrecked cars just pushed off the side of the road and left to rust. I had a band ask me to take my tour bus into mexico and I told them to get bent...just too risky.

I've listened to ipod before on long trips...I use the beeswax ear plugs(mack's) to hold the earbuds in place and block external noise so the volume doesn't have to be so loud.
