Actually we did. It was on terrorism and the countries that harbor them. Seems everybody wants to forget that part to bash Bush.

You know, the problem with a declaration of that nature is that it is so broad that it is hard to accept that declaration as anything other than hyperbole- to drive the emotions of the troops and those directly or indirectly supporting our efforts. An official declaration of war would require that there be a tangible opposing side, not a band of individuals ( imho) that have no loyalty to anything other than themselves and their doctrines. It would require that they represent some nation or land on an official level. I don't really think of this as an official declaration of war, so much as a call to alarm those of us in America that we are under attack and are going on the offensive....problem is, we went about it wrong and one of our mistakes, IN MY OPINION, was getting rid of a Rumsfeld. Most Americans have no idea the things he was intending to do with the military and how he was going to both expand our military capabilities and meet the needs of our military to be able to address 21st century threats...folks like Cheney and Armitige were our problem...

It is just like the "war" on drugs...it is a continuing operation, focusing on a select few countries with loads of money being spent with no foreseeable end in sight.

I feel bad for the people who believe the media and have no sympathy for the democrats who want to impeach Bush. Media gives us only a small fraction of the truth and on top of that and pursuade their opinion on daily watchers. I don't believe all the they say and I know there is a of a lot more going on there that we will not be able to find out pubicly (sp) in the next 10-20 years and I don't like it either when every one blames Bush but he doesn't deserve a medal either. My .02.

As far as I have ever seen the news has never had a positive spin on the conflict. The news is very biased towards their own views and agendas.

Man get outta here with that garbage, that don't justify a thing...let's stick with the "stated" reasons we are there bruh...

i think it's very to the point. and the "big" picture. stated = advertising. take it w/ a grain of salt.

Well, to respond:

To suggest that our troops are over seas fighting and dying to effectively cheapen my cost of gasoline and be fully acquiescent is both disturbing and sickening...

If that is the REAL reason we are there, then it further illuminates how grossly stupid this war is...particularly due to the deficit we are racking up there, we are cheapening gas and expanding the national deficit, economically retarded...

BTW, I am referring to Iraq in particular because Afghanistan is IN MY MIND, a worthy and fully justified cause. We should have applied more resources there in order to have accomplished/FINISHED (actually finished) the mission there...
