Bevo sends Mike the Tiger flowers

Fans from across the college football community have expressed their condolences to the LSU program after learning last week about Mike the Tiger's condition.

Texas mascot Bevo and the Texas Silver Spurs made a sweet gesture after they found out Mike's cancerous tumor had spread. A bouquet of flowers that included a couple of LSU balloons were sent to Mike with a note that read:

"Mike and All the Many People Who Loved Him Remain in Our Thoughts And Prayers."

Thank you, Bevo XV, for the flowers. #mascotssticktogether</p>-- Mike VI (@MikeTigerVI) October 7, 2016 University officials held a press conference on Oct. 5 announcing the update. According to, Mike the Tiger will be euthanized when he begins to suffer.

Mike has since been taken to hospice care.

Mike is a 10-year-old Siberian-Bengal mix. He arrived at the university in 2007. LSU won the 2007 BCS National Championship in Mike's first year as the LSU mascot.
