J.J. Watt had back surgery, expected to be ready for season
Texans star defensive lineman J.J. Watt had back surgery and will begin training camp on the physically unable to perform list, KPRC Channel 2 sports has confirmed.
Watt is expected to begin training camp on the physically unable to perform list. A player is eligible to come the list at any point prior to the regular season.
He is expected to be ready for the regular season opener on September 11 at NRG Stadium when the Texans host the Chicago Bears.
Watt has never missed a game in his five seasons in the NFL.
He also has played just under 25 snaps in preseason games over the last four seasons, while winning NFL defensive player of the years three times.
