Dante Fowler 'embarrassed' over video of girl fight
Dante Fowler Jr. issued an apology Tuesday after video surfaced that appeared to show the Jaguars defensive end refereeing a fight between two women in an apartment complex.
Fowler said he was embarrassed and has apologized to everyone involved.
TMZ released that video, which it said shows Fowler arriving at the complex Feb. 1 with a woman, believed to be his girlfriend, who confronts another woman, believed to be the mother of Fowler's child, in a common area in front of the elevator.
TMZ described the video as showing Fowler getting between the two women, but instead of breaking up the fight, he uses his arm to signal for a fight to begin. After a few moments, Fowler appears to step in to break it up.

Police said they were called to the scene and no charges were filed by any of the parties involved.
"As a family, we have been dealing with this moment and the conflict that led to it since this occurred," Fowler said in his statement, released through the Jaguars. "The video surfacing is a sad reminder that emotions got the best of all of us. I take 100 percent responsibility for everything that happened."
The Jaguars also released a statement Tuesday, saying that Fowler brought the incident to the team's attention before the video was released. They said he was embarrassed and remorseful when he told the team about it.
"Violence of this type against others is unacceptable in our society and to our organization," the team's statement said. "We will continue to look into the incident while offering resources and providing support to Dante and his family to help them through this private matter."
The NFL said the video is disturbing and it will review the matter.
Jacksonville sports agent and attorney Paul Healy said Fowler's behavior goes against the NFL's code of conduct, and the league will take the incident seriously.
"A lot of people forget that playing in the NFL is not a right. It's a privilege," Healy said. "He could be fined. He could miss some games. It's really up to what the league determines. This is, obviously, he didn't participate, but the fact that he just said, 'OK, go ahead,' and basically stood back and watched it, I mean, that's not good."
Healy said that despite the video, he doesn't think the incident will affect Fowler's future contracts, but he will be watched closely.
"This is an isolated incident, and so far, I don't think there have been any incidents with him in the past," Healy said. "If this is one incident, I don't think they would look at him as any significant liability at this point in time so early in his career."
Fowler played for the University of Florida and was the Jaguars' first-round draft pick in 2015.
Fowler, who signed a $23.5 million contract, has not played a game for the Jaguars yet, because he tore his ACL on the first day of mini-camp and missed his entire rookie season.
