Texans Watt gives details on his surgery

During an appearance on "The Dan Patrick Show," Texans defensive end J.J. Watt revealed some additional details about his surgery that took place just after the season on Jan. 12. He said he was doing fine following sports hernia surgery. "I had both sides (of my groin) done. I had a lot done," Watt said in describing the first surgery of his career. "I actually have six incisions. "There's a lot going on down there. It is not good down there," Watt joked. "It ended up being a bit more extensive than we planned originally," Watt said about the procedure. "There was more wrong than we thought, but I have great people taking care of me. They're doing a great job." He didn't comment on his recovery time, but he is expected to be able to participate in some of the Texans' offseason activities. Watt is the favorite to win the AP Defensive Player of the Year award -- which will be handed out as part of the NFL Honors show on Saturday night ahead of the Super Bowl.
