Official photos of the Royal Enfield Himalayan

Royal Enfields studio shots of its new Himalayan adventure bike

The Himalayan in 'Granite'

FOLLOWING Royal Enfield's presentation of the new Himalayan adventure bike yesterday, we've got these official studio photos of the bike, which show us a bit more detail of the machine we've seen so so much of in recent videos and spy shots.

The compact 411cc single-cylinder engine is protected by a sump guard which we expect to be metal; after all, this is a bike that's meant to be capable of dealing with rugged conditions. The small oil cooler is also easily accessible in its position at the front-left of the engine.

Viewed from above and behind, the Himalayan looks compact and rugged and the shot from above reveals the that Himalayan logo the runs down the side of the tank and the front mudguard. You can also see the logo in its more prominent position on the plate under the seat.

We've already seen spy shots of the instruments, so know that the dash looks looks clear and comprehensive, and that the engine redlines at 9,000rpm. The dash even includes a digital compass, which depending on how you look at it, is either a gimmick or an effective features that serves a reminder of this bike's intentions.

It looks like it's got steel braided brake lines too.

The Himalayan will be available in two colours - 'Granite' for the black bike and 'Snow' for the white one. There are more pictures are in the gallery below.

Check out a 360 degree video of the bike in action here.
