I'm not sure yet. But may be shooting for July for a central meet. If no one would like to lead, I don't mind.

I, in fact, did what the job description requires me to. Sweep the group to safer pastures, which i felt we did. Also the guys we were riding with were experienced commuters so again, staying in a blob in one lane is unnecessary.

We nominate you for Central meet leader!!!
You did good. And since you moved to the front you didn't see that I fell to the back of the group and took the sweeper role. Eventually we went back to our respective places. It worked out good, we worked together as a team, and everyone got to the meet spot unscathed.

This while topic blew up.

Ride at your own risk, but don't risk other riders. Is that so hard to follow?

You'd think it wouldn't be, but sometimes riders don't pay attention, or they're distracted, or they get over their head without realizing it.

This is true, happened to me a few years ago. Learned the hard way.

I find it funny how most the riders who are complaining, weren't even at the meet. lol. It was my first group ride, and I brought my wife who has minimal experience on the bike and was frightened at first to even go on her own bike. She was worried because she takes her time on her 300, and didn't want other fast riders making her feel uncomfortable. She thanked me while we were crossing the ferry, telling me she's glad I talked her into riding her own bike because she was having fun. It was a diverse ride, but for my wife's sake fortunately there was no stunting or excessive sustained high speeds. It took a lot for me to not wheelie on the FZ09 lol. Didn't want to be THAT GUY.

What ride is this? Don't remember taking 290 on Saturday.

You and your wife rode to Baytown from Sugarland. We Northwest siders rode from 1960 down 290 to I 10 and on to Baytown.
Glad you two made it home safely. Happy to hear she had fun. She did great even when the semi and that car were trying to run her over. Probably best you weren't doing wheelies since I think I saw a thread saying you were having clutch issues. Saturday could have gone very different had that happened on the island.

lmao right. The near death by semi wasn't captured well due to rain on the lense. But no, wheelies would have ruined my weekend guaranteed. It caught up with me on Monday when I got into an aggressive ride with a fellow FZ09 rider on my way to Cosco. He was riding with a death wish. Doing 140mph splitting straight through traffic. I was in the wide open HOV lane. Probably best the clutch died though, because I don't know how the I was going to get a shopping list from Cosco home on the bike with no luggage. That was going to be interesting.

Lol... y'all so funny... this was a great ride... we stayed in a group and in one lane most of the time... but if you can't have a good time stay at home... and let a rider wear what he wants... it's his anyways... and... well... I will stop there...
