Texans quarterback Hoyer clears concussion protocol, will start against Saints

Texans head coach Bill O'Brien confirmed Monday that quarterback Brian Hoyer has cleared concussion protocol and will start against the New Orleans Saints on Sunday.

O'Brien made the announcement at a press conference.

T.J. Yates will remain No. 2 on the depth chart. Yates started Sunday's game against the Jets -- a 24-17 win. Yates came in when Hoyer suffered a concussion in the Texans' 10-6 win against the Bengals.

The Texans will look to improve their 5-5 record against a 4-6 New Orleans team.
