The RnineT Scrambler will be part of BMWs 2016 lineup

And will be officially unveiled at Eicma

BMW today revealed that the R nineT Scrambler, originally shown as a concept, has been put into production for 2016 and will be unveiled at the Eicma show in Milan on the November 17.

BMW Motorrad intends to use the Scrambler derivative of the R nineT to build on the success of the bike it launched in 2014. Stephan Schaller, head of BMW Motorrad, said: 'With the countless possibilities for individualisation offered by the BMW RnineT and the BMW R nineT Scrambler, we see tremendous potential in the US market, in particular.'

The revelation came in a statement from BMW's corporate news arm in Munich. Along with the news about the R nineT Scrambler, Schaller also said that BMW will be growing its sub-500cc urban range, which will include bikes with electric drive-trains.

Earlier today BMW also revealed the 313cc single-cylinder G310 R.
