Supposedly the second layer is complete and in the curing process. I have not been out there to see the progress though.

It will probably be ready just in time when TWS (Texas World Speedway) gets closed and sold off to the developer sharks.

GrandSport Speedway Club memberships are now available and are selling fast!

We are now taking applications for memberships to our GrandSport Speedway Motorsport club. Specific member track days will be available in June 2007. The available dates are listed below. Click the yellow email address below and you will receive an application by email!

members@grandsportspeedway.com

All members will receive a free two day racing program from Racing Adventures Advanced Driving School in their own car. This is a value of $1000. If you don't have proper track training the school is mandatory. This will assure all other members that everyone is coming from the same level of basic track skill. If you hold a racing license from an accredited race sanctioning organization or you can demonstrate you are a competent track driver you will not have to attend the school.

Your investment is as follows!

Yearly membership
Grand Opening offer purchased before July 1, 2007
We sell our memberships based on a calender year. To get you started you will need to purchase your first two years in advance for a fee of $2500 per year or a total fee of $5000. That's $125 per track day. You can purchase additional days for the same price.

After July 1, 2007 to get you started you will need to purchase your first two years in advance for a fee of $3000 per year or a total fee of $6000.

There are no monthly, daily or session fees. After your initial two year membership runs out and with mutual approvals a yearly fee will be charged one year at a time. Pay as you go. This yearly fee will allow you to choose 20 days from a 50 day member schedule. You can cancel your membership at any year end that your paid membership ends. That's $150 per track day. You can purchase additional days for the same price.

As number of cars on track will be limited members will need to register for their desired dates by email at members@grandsportspeedway.com. Phone calls will not be accepted for booking member day spots.

Guests of members that possess accredited race licenses can join a member for a fee of $200 per day.

i cant wait till it opens, thats like 15 mins from me and i have a free track day credit to use whenever it opens. I think ill let some of the other more experienced track-dayers try it out before i do and maybe put up some discussion about the track/surface/run-off/walls condition. When i was there workin for the day i saw a few things that concerned me when it comes to lack of run off. I cant exactly call the turns by number since the last time i was there it was all dirt and VERY roughly marked off.

I may swing over there in the next few days just to check a few things out.

the corner i was refering i think is what they are calling the schoolhouse turn.
http://www.grandsportspeedway.com/photos.html
look at the second and third to last picture on the page. It is right after a long straight so it should be a moderatly fast corner. That road you see is the entrance to the track and there is a house right next t that turn..

anyways looks like it should be at least ride/drivable soon. not much of a paddock yet though. site says a "sun blocker structure" is in the works, but i think most people will have to bring their own stuff to stay out of the sun until then.

In my opinion the membership prices are a bit high for what is being offered. I would rather have one at Motorsports Ranch and be able to ride Houston or Cresson personally. At this time anyways.
