Fatal accident at the Lone Star Rally

http://abc13.com/news/motorcyclist-k...rally/1071828/

They live 4 houses down from me. If you prey please prey for her she isn't doing well. They are a young couple and I hope they charge the truck driver.

From her sister..
Quote:
Carole is in critical condition. All the bones in her face are broken and she has to undergo immediate surgery on her ocular cavity. She had broken ribs puncturing one lung. Lots of cranial swelling and lacerations. They aren't sure she's going to make it. Send her al the positive vibes you can and those who pray, send them her way. She needs it. The family is trying to be strong but they're all in shock and need your support as well
RIP CODY.

Good news this morning..

Quote:
Found out today thay Carole is now Stable. They are waiting to reduce the sedatives, so she's still resting, like her body needs. There isn't more change to report than that but it's great to know that she will pull through. She's got a long, tough road ahead of her but she's going to make it. Continue praying for her and Cody's family as they are all still dealing with so much.

Sorry to hear this, I first heard about this friday on FB. I hope she has a 100% recovery.
Were they wearing helmets?
Yesterday there was a motorcyclist down on 146 at 1st ave. I was passing by maybe 3-4 mins after it happened. The site made me cringe. I didnt see the guy wearing a helmet or a helmet in the area.

Glad to hear some good news in such a tragic story. Sounds like she has a long road ahead of her until she is 100%.

Due to the injuries described, most likely not. But anything is possible. Either way it sucks for the families involved.

Someone (op?) mentioned they hope the driver (trucker?) is charged.

Can someone please elucidate on the topic of how this horrible wreck happened, and why it is that the driver should be charged? Was this a particularly egregious disregard of the rules of the road? Disrespect or aggressive actions taken against the bikers? I feel for those who are victims of aggression from people driving cagers since even with 100% gear on, we are still essentially pedestrians on the road, completely exposed like a car plowing over a man crossing the street, when a cager decides to slam into us

That was an over reaction on my part. Personally connected, I put my feelings out there. Accidents happen and if that's what it truly was so be it.
