Would there be any interest in something like this?

Okay, one of the biggest drawbacks to wearing a helmet is communication ... talking to normal people or other riders while wearing the helmet. Hearing others is not the problem ... it's the muffled voice of the helmet wearer. There are solution of course like wearing helmet to helmet comm systems, but that doesn't help at say the gas station or talking to someone without a system ... so ... here's what I came up with ...

While making fun of some nerds who had built their own stormtrooper outfits, I came across a system they made that puts a personal voice amp in the helmet using button sized speakers on the outside of the helmet. I "think" I could modify the system to tuck into a regular helmet, mic position would be simple, but speaker location would require some imagination.

Do you think this is something people would want? Or am I just being an ultra-nerd myself.

i highly doubt anybody would waste the money for something like this.

they'd rather take the helmet off.

make them like pins that can be placed on the shoulders of a jacket, or clips that can mount to the top of a visor.

i wouldn't use it though, i'd just yell louder or remove the helmet

I've ridden on some rides where talking to the other rider while at a stop is almost impossible with traffic noise, I just figured this would be a good way to resolve that.

I was thinking perhaps velcro the speaker to the front of the helmet and use a momentary switch mounted some where along the lip of the helmet ... sort of like a PTT. Could probably run on rechargable flat Li-Ion batts.

Im with him. Some people may go for it just to have, but i think most will just remove their helmet.

Smile im with you

Hi logan I'm 100% agree with you. I feel some body need to make some equipment like that, come to think of how much is an earpiece for the celphone?...........10.00,,,, or 20.......?
If you can break it to pieces, its only 2 parts inside speaker and the mike,,, and its so small, suppose to be easy to install it inside the helmet.

one time I try to ride like that (in safe country road)I have so much fun riding my bike and listening to the radio from my nokia..

any way I hope some investor read our comment,, willing to produce it in china sooo product come back here with affordable price. (((( 10 to 25 ))0

It would be totally cool in a Simpson helmet. I would buy it just to have one. I belive that it's unique enough that there will be a market for it.

For that, you would need a bike mounted speaker ... acutally an easier problem to solve.

To solve your problem, i will have a couple of new bluetooth dot helmets for sale in a week. push a hidden button near the bottom of the helmet and your connected, sound is excellent up to 70mph.
