Even the best quality chrome job might have a small area that could flake off. The weight gain is negligible. The big problem is embrittlement. Heating the wheel during the chroming process could change the heat treatment of the aluminum. Check the link below. They do look great tho.

Chrome looks nice but only if its not overdone like said before. Powdercoat looks just plain sexy but i dig the paint matched look.
