Hyosung GD400R coming next year

South Korean firm will replace most of the range over two years

The Hyosung GD250R

HYOSUNG is planning a 400cc version of its single-cylinder GD250R sports bike, according to the firm's UK distributor, MotoGB.

Steve Oliver, MotoGB's National Sales Manager, said it would be part of an almost complete new Hyosung line-up to be launched over the next two years.

He said the GD400R would arrive next year along with a new learner sports bike, the GD125R.

Oliver said: 'In a period of 24 months they plan to replace most of the range.

'They are bringing out a GD125R and GD400R.'

He said it was acknowledged by the South Korean firm that some of the existing line-up was getting 'a little past its sell-by date'.

The current range includes the air-cooled GT125R and GT250R as well as the liquid-cooled GD250R, which makes 27.6hp and 17.8lbft. The firm also makes two liquid-cooled V-twin 650s - the fully-faired GT650R and naked GT650P - and a number of cruisers.

A liquid-cooled GD125R was unveiled as long ago as 2011, at the Intermot Cologne motorcycle show. The same machine is currently pictured on Hyosung's UK website with a caption saying: 'New model GT125R'.
