I was kinda born into it. Ma and Pa both worked in the oilfield my entire life.
I just fell in line and never looked back.

We have our own repair shop, tired of making other people money and decided to make some for ourselves. I also have a jewelry company and also am an independant consultant for Mary Kay and also an independant agent for Prepaid Legal. I figured I would throw alot of irons in the fire and see which one comes out the hottest.

I originally studied management but then ended up getting a job with a tech support cube company. When they got a new contract, I was taking over by the tech firm itself to do inhouse tech support.

Through that position, I am now in product support management where this is a project management type job.

I did get a Bachelors of Business Administration with a Major in Marketing and a Minor in International Business. The later is good because I now deal with folks from all around the world, the company is super virtual and my team members are more international than the United Nations. Almost. :laughing6

One day, I do want to get a job in Marketing though, most likely production or developing strategies or being a product manager.

Knew in highschool I wanted to be in the Aerospace industry, went to school at USC for my Aero degree and haven't looked back since. I've been working Manned Space Flight since I graduated in 1995 with short stints here and there on various black programs, but MSF is where my passion is.

I'm in Real Estate. My moms in Real Estate and I used to help her out while I was in school in the summers and on the weekends so I was becoming a "salesman" early in the years. LOL

I always wanted to be an assassin...but I work in lease records for an oil & gas company...kinda the same thing, eh? LOL I don't know how I got here, but the work is okay, pay is good, and benefits are great!

I have a BS in IT...and it has nothing whatsoever to do with my job. Oh well.
indecision may or may not be my problem

automotive body work and painting.....started out as an entreprenuer (sp?) with a cellular phone store (voicestream/tmobile), a tattoo shop, and ended up working where i ultimately would, my dad's automotive shop painting and fixing people's wrecked cars/trucks/bikes.

never really had interest working a white collar job, as i never even had the dedication to finish high school. i couldn't imagine how bored i would be stuck in an office or cubical all day. i like being on my feet and working with my hands.

Auto tech, since young I always tinkered with mechanical stuff, after high school, after watching a guy removing the engine from a car that was it....went to technical school and the rest is history...i'm still taking refresher courses now and then to keep up to date.

I'm a student at HCC, I have an associate's degreee from UTI in Auto. Technology, and have worked in a dealership a family-owned shop, and a franchise store that has 12 locations in houston all owned by the same person. The best out of the three was the franchise, but just because of the peoplpe, and if you got slow, you could move to another store.. Lots of variety. I am working towards Mech. Engineering, after about 5 more years of school. I always like tinkering on everything. I was 6y/o when I got the family 1971 Honda QA50 running after dad, after repeated attempts, couldn't fix it. My mom has her own comapy, and dad is a mech. engineer, so I guess I'm with most people, that they followed the ideas of their parents. I have considered opening up my own business, as that is what i am kindof doing while I am at school, but to fully start up a business, a lot of money is involved. Auto Tech. work is a LOT of physical labor, lots of hot days, and many chances to hurt/mame/kill yourself, and that is why i left there. I'd rather use my brain than my back!

I'm an Electrical Engineer but ended up working in the software business. Worked for IBM in Mexico and then got recruited by a consulting firm and moved to Houston. Now, I’ve been in the software development business for 7 years, used to be the templates designer, then the product support specialist, then the product manager and now the Operations Manager. So I work in an office all day but I will love to be more in the field, getting my hands dirty as a real electrical engineer but oh well, I still have my bike to play with.

From high school on I have known I wanted to be involved in space flight. So I went and got a Bachelor's in Mech. Eng. and then decided to get a Master's in Aero. Eng. to improve my options. I always enjoyed the dynamics of space flight more than anything so I tried to get a job working for a satellite company but ended up falling into a job here with Lockheed working on the Orion project (new manned space vehicle for NASA). Now I'm glad it happened cuz the work is wayyy more interesting than I expected and I'm not even doing dynamics I'm working operations for life support which I thought would suck. Good luck choosing your path!
