Marquez wants a normal race at Austin
The Spaniard also wishes his teammate Dani Pedrosa a speedy recovery
Marquez during a press conference in Qatar.
REIGNING MotoGP World Champion Marc Marquez is putting Qatar behind him ready for the second round in Austin where he has dominated in the past.
The Circuit of the America’s circuit was completed in 2012 with a total of 20 corners, 9 right turns and 11 left turns.
Marquez took his first premier class victory at the Texan circuit in 2013, with his Repsol Honda team-mate Dani Pedrosa making it a 1-2 in both 2013 and 2014.
The young Spaniard finished fifth in Qatar after running wide at the first corner and slotting into last place after rejoining, but Marquez will now put that behind him.
"I’m really looking forward to getting to Austin and putting Qatar behind us,” said Marquez.
“The Circuit of The Americas is one of my favourite circuits and I have good memories of taking my first win in the MotoGP class, back in 2013, and also winning there last year.
“We need to work hard from FP1 and then keep this momentum for the whole weekend and have a ‘normal’ race.
“I’m really sorry for Dani, myself and the whole team wish him a speedy recovery. We welcome Hiroshi to the team and will help him how we can!"
