When we got to Fairbanks we pulled into the BMW dealership.
A guy was taking all of his plastics off. I showed Chad
where the only thing I could see was oil on his back tire.
About 95% of the bikes going to Alaska are the BMW GS like this
one and the same bikes Chad and I were riding. They have a good
reputation and are bullet proof.

Well I asked the guy what was up and he pointed to his transmission.
Giant crack in it. He said he was with some guys and was from
North Carolina. Later the next day we ran into a guy
from North Carolina and he was with this same guy and said he
thought that because this guy had been running 85 mph and getting the
bike completely airborne on the whoop de doos caused by the
perma frost. He said he had ridden them three times and he was sure
this is what cracked his buddies transmission.

MOSQUITOES WERE EVERYWHERE.
CHECK OUT THE INSIDE OR THE TENT.

HALF WAY UP TO THE ARCTIC CIRCLE FROM FAIRBANKS
AS YOU PASS THE YUKON RIVER THESE FOLKS
MADE JEWELERY OUT OF ANIMAL BONES AND ANYTHING
THEY FIND ON THE GROUND. NICE JEWELERY SHOP EH?

BRIDGE OVER THE YUKON.
THEY PULLED A TUG BOAT OUT OF THE WATER
BY PUTTING THOSE BOARDS DOWN AND SMEARING
GREASE ON THEM.

WE STAYED TWO NIGHTS IN DENALI PARK.
CHAD'S BUDDY BRANDO PAID FOR A CABIN FOR US AND
WOULD NOT LET US PAY HIM BACK. HE WORKS THERE
AS THE HEAD BARTENDER IN A FANTASTIC RESTAURANT.
REAL NICE GUY.

THIS BEAUTIFUL GAL WAS AMAZING.
WATCHING HER MIX DRINKS AND SHE ALWAYS HELD THE
GLASS UP TO THE LIGHT TO MAKE SURE IT WAS SPARKLING
CLEAN. IF NOT SHE WOULD CLEAN IT AND EXAMINE IT AGAIN.
I HAVE NEVER SEEN THAT HERE.

COMING UP TO A BRIDGE AND A SIGN IN FRONT OF IT.

WE PULLED INTO A CANADIAN PUBLIC CAMP GROUND.
WE DECIDED THE BEST PLACE TO SET UP THE TENT
WAS IN THE SHELTER. WE TIED IT AT EACH END TO THE
PICNIC TABLES.

THESE FOLKS DECIDED AN AIRPLANE TICKET WAS TOO MUCH
MONEY SO THEY BOUGHT A BEATER VAN AND LOADED THEIR
BIKES AND DOG IN IT AND DROVE TO PRUDHOE BAY.
THEY THEN GAVE THE VAN TO THE NEXT GUY THAT WALKED BY.
THEY ARE RIDING FROM PRUDHOE BAY TO KEY WEST FLORIDA.
THEY SAID THEY SHOULD MAKE IT THERE IN NOVEMBER.

WE STOPPED IN SOME SMALL TOWN
IN CANADA AND DECIDED TO RENT A ROOM AT THIS
RUNDOWN LOOKING PLACE. ACTUALLY THE INSIDE
OF THE ROOM WAS NOT TOO BAD AND WE GOT A
MUCH NEEDED NIGHT REST.

WATCH OUT FOR THE PO PO.
OUTSIDE OF TEXAS WE PROBABLY SAW 5 COPS.
ONCE IN TEXAS WE PROBABLY SAW 15 IN THE FIRST
TWO HOURS. 10,000 MILES EACH AND DID NOT GET
PULLED OVER ONCE. 80 TO 90 EVEN THRU
CANADA'S 65 MPH CRAZINESS AND WE SURE
LUCKED OUT.

ONE MILE FROM HOME.
HOME AT LAST
