Nikasil Plating in Houston

Does anyone know a provider of Nikasil plating/re-plating of cylinders locally, just trying to prepare myself for something down the road. Everyone I have found is out of state.

Ebr sends there stuff out. Tom is the only one who does it locally. He's one of 3-4 who do it nationally.

I always found it was cheaper to just buy a new cylinder. If it is for a dirtbike that is.

rat racing but last time I talked to Tom he was in the process of moving out of the country. When he is in town he does some work, but I am not sure if he is in town now or not.

Yeah it's for a WR400, we haven't got into the cylinder yet, but I'm preparing for the worst after seeing the cloud of smoke that comes out when the bike is fired up cold. Once it heats up and the rings expand its not to bad, but I'm thinking the plating/cylinder might need replaced as well.

Chad what are your thoughts on bolting the WR426 cylinder on with the new piston, from what I see they are a direct swap but them I am concerned about the crank and really don't want to go that deep. I know the valves are the kibblewhite so the head should be good .

I think this is a Pre mature discussion till we get into it. I just need to get it to you first I suppose.
