In my opinion people forming a regular riding group that meets regularly is a GOOD thing!!
To clear something up. DORC lives to eat. we ride a bit as well but normally not group rides. solo ti where we are going tho chow down. we are a eating group first and foremost.

I don't do group rides just because of my schedule. I work too much as it is. I try to ride when I can. But yes if I ride I like to stop at a good place for lunch & (pie). I have thought about doing a group ride again if I get the time. I too have noticed not many rides posted but still lots of rides going on.

I just ran stats from the last 12 months.

We are actually the same as last year as far as user activity.

Which isn't exactly what we'd like to see. We want to see growth. Its not really just a BORC/SDRC thing. its how we treat people that come visit us.

Ivan,
You have your view and I respect it but there is nothing but air and opportunity stopping the many thousands of riders on this board from posting up a ride and getting their group ride on.
Why is that not happening? Its called lack of initiative. It does not have to do with BORC/SDRC fun threads.

As for the "how would others view the board?"comment, I would hope that they could realize that one thread does not define a board and that some people actually post for entertainment. A sterilized board is no fun.

The many sit and wait for the few who actually post like Jimrad to post up a ride instead of taking 5 minutes to write a meet thread and make one happen.

I have posted rides (non BORC rides) in the last year as well as numerous Wednesday meets and other quick meet and greets in an effort to get people out and socialize. I truly appreciate the people who come out and hang. Those opportunities are just as important as rides for getting to know people and finding cool people to ride with on weekends.

So what I am saying is that the fruit is on the tree, and people just have to get off their to pick it!

Other Thread got locked while I was reading all 7 pages.

First of all I want to state that I have ridden with several BORC members.

I have had my own experiences on the track and street. Along with my fair share of wrecks.

In these rides that I have engaged in I always rode at my own pace. I was never pressured or encouraged to ride faster that I was comfortable doing on the street. In fact they patiently waited on me to catch up. I personally know a few BORC members. Meet up for lunch on work days, ride to meets together, etc. Some are great guys that do not condone riding outside ones comfort and more importantly ones skill.

I would like to add that I did several of Newriders Noob rides. And people went down in those all the time. I myself was taken out in a corner by another rider in 2011. Its nothing to do with the BORC community. But about the maturity level of the members of this forum.

To many people "talk the talk" and then crash trying to walk the walk. No we do nothing you are cool or give you any recognition for it.

I agree with Mantoe. People need to relax. Talk about moto related subjects. Ride to ride and not to impress others. In reality other members will think better of you for riding your own pace. Because smart members talk to each other about other riders, and they don't want to ride with people who don't ride responsibly or those who cause a danger to the group.

I have left many group rides due to other riders. I then go a ride by myself or another member who feels the same way.

Stop pointing the finger and ask... Do I ride like an asshat in a group setting? Do I push other riders beyond their comfort level?

The last thing I would like to say is this: The experienced riders are not the problem. Its everyone else who "thinks" they are good riders who do not have the experience or skills of others. Those are the ones that are dangerous. And those are the riders\members that should be helped or taught.
