I'm back, with something new.

Hey everyone. It's been a while.

So, pics first, and then the story.

So, I picked this pretty thing up for $1000 last night. It's an '03 CBR600RR, and it's got some roughed up plastics, some janky wiring, a blown head gasket, and it doesn't want to shift up past second gear. The fairings I don't really care about to be honest, I'll take care of that later on. The janky wiring is all going to be replaced by a friend with lots of experience in that. Blown head gasket will be replaced by myself along with the aforementioned friend, and the shifting issue, I haven't quite figured out yet. I'm hoping that it's just an adjustment that needs to be made on the linkage itself, but I didn't really mess with it today. Starts and runs though, so I think I made out alright for a grand.

Glad to be back around, hopefully come out for a cruise once I get this thing back in shape.

Sounds like with a little TLC it should be good to go. Time and patience go along way when working on equipment.

This is most likely to happen. If I can't get it to shift properly on my own, I'll just replace the whole thing. I've already sourced a couple.

Sounds like a good deal! Hopefully that shifting problem isn't too bad.

SmartShark... If you need help I am more than willing. I have such skills such as drinking beer and pointing at stuff and going "I dunno but that looks broke."

I've got a buddy who's gonna help with the head gasket (or motor swap if it comes to that), but I'm definitely gonna need somebody to cruise with once it's ready, to get my motorcycle-legs back And besides, there are a lot of things on this CBR that look broke, LOL. You'll get a laugh once you see it in person.
