Just heard that Travis is critical, but stable condition. Prayers to him, his family and HSBK team.

Glad you guys enjoyed... I was upset when I heard there would be no coverage but pretty excited when I came across it. I think they will also have SBK and DSBK up soon as well.

His wreck happened off camera. Did they say what caused it? I was watching those guys slip the rear and catch it. There were some amazing saves where the bike just wanted catapult the rider. Have not watched much bike racing but this race had me glued to the computer. Is the kid who wrecked a local rider yall have met at the track here in Texas? Hope he comes out ok. When those riders came through the cork screw in a group it was amazing watching them lay the bike into the turn going down hill like that ... of steel. Again amazing to watch.

Freak racing incident, another rider made contact with him. He races CMRA, for the houston superbike team. Very, very talented rider.

Yes he's a local rider, from the HSBK team. He rides MSRH quite a bit, I think (I've seen him there a few times, when RideSmart has been there). He has also done some endurancing with Schwantz with CMRA. Absolute blast to watch. Talented kid with no fear.

You can actually see his crash for just a split second, behind the first 4. It was at such a distance though, you can't really see what happened, but his bike went to the outside of the track (he was coming out of a turn), then it's completely out of the frame (they pretty much kept the cam views on the leaders). Looks like he started about mid-pack on the grid, and almost immediately had gotten up to 5-6th place. The rider that hit him was right on his tail, so he would not have had time to change course. :( Seemed like it took the red flag a while to come out.

EDIT: Chase beat me to it.

Yeah you can him slide into the gravel coming out of the turn. He started on row 4 and had moved up nice. The front 5 before the red flag were putting on a show. Yeah it did seem like a long time before they dropped the red flag. I just hope he come out ok.

Noob question ... AMA vs CMRA just different associations or is one a step from the other? I did notice that field of riders was very young.

CMRA, WERA, etc are regional amateur leagues. AMA is a step up. Basically the cream of the crop of the amateurs MIGHT qualify to race AMA (we have a few expert racers that have qualified to do it). Ty Howard, Brandt Dillon, Alonzo Contreras, and Derek Wagnon (Travis's team mate) are some that are also CMRA racers that have run some AMA races.
