thinking about selling my cr250 amd get into tmgp

Well with all the tmgp talk. And watching videos it looks like crazy fun. So I was thinking xr 80/100. Bit then there are the 110s. And man those 65s are sweet and probably fast as . Not sure what route to go if I end up selling my dirtbike. I'd like to get ahold of one that is set up. Or atleast close to it. I'm 6ft190 what do you guys suggest?

6ft--> most comfortable will be an XR100 or TTR125. I would go with the 100 as it affords you the most classes to race over the 125.

Yea that was another thing is I wanted to be able to race in a good amount of classes. I saw another thread about the wheel swap from an 80 to the front of the 100. Catch bottle safety wire. Tires if I'm lucky I could probably do it for a grand. But I'd like to get somthing already setup really

I agree the crf/xr100 would be the most comfortable platform at your size.
I am 6' and 223lbs and the klx and most of the gp bikes feel cramped to me.
I have a crf100 with a 115kit in it and 17" wheels and it is comfortable to ride...
I could not imagine doing an endurance on one of those small fames.... maybe if I was in my 30's instead of my 60's.

Too many people looking right now. Most of you are going to have to build a bike. I know there are a lot of NSR50s out there, but myself I prefer the motard over the supersport inspired minis.

Yea I pefer the motard style for crashing reasons and the ability to ride off road as well. How much did those 17in wheels set you back? I think I wanna stay away from the chinese I know the xr is bulletproof. How often can you go practice I'm pretty close to katy

my 17" wheels cost WAY too much... at the time I was not 100% sure i would like TMGP, I knew it looked like a blast, but i wanted to be able to go back to stock dirt bike if I did not like it and i bought new hubs front and rear and had cam in NC, build mine for me and had him put a set of dunlop gp slicks on as well... you can do a whole lot better than i did on price....
as to practice in Katy, when you join the kart club (300 a year) you have unlimited access as long as there is not an event scheduled.

I am not sure, I know he was converting his back to dirt and had some wheels he wanted to trade/sell, and he sold the motor he had.
