And you can probably negotiate a little off those prices. They too $500 off my R1 when I got it there.

$2800 for a 2007 Ninja 250 is a total ripoff, even if it were brand new. $1700-$2000 would be my maximum for pristine.

that cbr may be a hair slower but i think it looks sweet and handle a bit better...
I almost bought one myself, but do not have the room to build another garage to park it in... and could not figure out when i was going to get a chance to ride it...got several bikes I never get to ride now. Got about 5 i should sell but just can not bring myself to do it.

Wow, really? I had no idea. So for a new 250 it would only cost around the amount you gave?

no a new Ninja 250/300 is going to cost more than a honda cbr...
but their used on is a 2007, it is the old style.. they changed in 2008... he is saying they want too much for an old style ninja....but i do not think you are going to find one at a dealer for what he wants to pay... craigs list would be more in that line.

Yeah, I'm really sketchy about buying a bike from craigslist even if it is a good deal. But still being a newbie, I don't know a lot of prices on certain bikes. That is why I was confused.

What Obed said. If you are going to a dealer, then I would keep to the 08+ models. Also note, all ninja 250's are carbed. The CBR 250 and the new Ninja 300 are fuel injected.

If money is not too much of an issue, I've heard really good things about the 2013 ninja 300.

If you are buying used, take someone with you that knows what to look for and can test ride it if you are not comfortable doing it. Many on here would be happy to help you.

I want the model I get to be at least 08. It's not much of an issue, I do want a Ninja, I'm just a little unsure with all the other makers as well. If I do end up buying used I would most definitely want some experienced riders there with me to help me decide the day I get my very own.

If someone else is buying you the bike for your birthday, go for something more expensive. Chances are your next bike you'll be buying yourself. So get the one your really want now while it's free.
