Question Ground / Groved Asphalt

Holy . Riding over to a buddies house tonight .. there is construction and they have ground down a couple layers of the asphalt road surface. It feels like that is grabbing the tire and trying pull the front end out from underneath me.

I know they do this on highways in corners where the road is slick but it just does not seem safe for a motorcycle. Any suggestions on how to ride that .. I went slow lol.

If you just hold it straight and go will it pull you down? I mean seriously .. it really felt like my front wheel was wobbling ... and I was only doing like 20 mph. I felt if I went faster it would grab the wheel and pull me down. Maybe I am over thinking since I just started riding but it feels weird.

Yeah when they redid part of Montrose right at Grey that was killer. Was a suprise the first night. Rode over it many many times until they recovered it and never had a problem but really had a tight every time (haha, pun intended). Just go slow and hold solid but relaxed and should be ok, but I never had to turn on it.

I feel they should have to put up signs in construction zones if the road surface is not (street) MC friendly.

Anyone want to spring for stickers?

Wheelie it and you won't feel it...jk

Try painted stripes in the rain or city . Those things are slick. Grooved and/or grounded down asphalt isn't too fun but its no biggy. If you think it is bad on a bike, try it on low-pro runflat tires in a car. Talk about grab you and yank you back and fourth.

Ok .. so just ride and guide the bike if it pulls it a little one way or the other. I wanted to ask because it was a just a small patch maybe a 100 yards or so at an intersection where they are adding a lane. I know I will encounter larger patches on the road at some point.

Still learning but I have such a large range of knowledge here available to me the only stupid question is the one not asked. Appreciate the responses.

As long as the bike is pointed in the right direction, don't do anything. Let the horse (bike) have its head

Just relax your grip and ride it out. It isn't that bad. There are worst things out there.

I am sure there are worse things. I just wanted to ask because I am not really interested in seeing what the pavement feels like.
