Also, high end German cars always give me a false K hit, pins the meter and then tapers off like it's pulsing. Always happens when they are in front of me, like some blind spot radar or something.

Jeff,
I've been using the Escort for years, my current rig is the 9500. You can't beat the stop light camera and speed trap alerts.

I bought a SmartRadar- Radar Detector 1 year ago and absolutely love it. It's expensive but it is worth every penny!! (It saved me from paying $1000's on tickets.)

Use it with the 'Escort Live' App & pair the radar to your phone to receive alerts.

I have always had passport radar detectors in my vehicles. Don't always run one on my bike but I do at times. Since I'm in sales I drive all over the city and it is a must. The last two have been really good. The Passport 8500 X50 (blue) I have had since 2005 and have never received a ticket with it. My last speeding ticket was back in 96 or 97. Only reason I got a ticket was I was cruising in my T/A which I had no detector in it.

Won a little contest at work and got to pick items out of a points catalog and picked out the Passport 9500ix (and a Hero 3 black ). I really like the warnings of speed traps, redlight cameras, speed cameras, and the ability to mark your own. It is tied to GPS and lets you know when your getting near to one of those areas. You can go online, it uploads and updates what others have marked with your spots. After you pass a false alarm 3 times it will store it as a false alarm. Cool as . The new Passport Max is even better but costs more. I would of picked that one if it was in the catalog.

Bought this mount for my truck. Comes with power wire if your mirror has 12 volts going to it. Press of a button I can remove it.

And this mount for my ZX10r.

Bumping an old thread. Anyone used Adaptiv Technologies TPX 2.0 Radar/Laser Detector?

From reading the thread, seems like the top choices are:
V1 and 9500ix

I personally run a Redline in my car and love it. Looking for something for the bike that's less expensive, probably will buy something used off eBay. Don't really want to to get a another redline because it's $419 right now.

I dont even use one anymore. They all seem to have laser and there isnt a point in detecting that. If you detect it you are already hit

I run my Waze app everywhere for that reason. It has saved me many times on the Hardy toll Road and Beltway eight

Even DPS is using Laser now. I got hit 3 different times on 45 coming south from Dallas a few months ago at night. My V1 went off several times before I was in range though from other cars in front. My escort never did that.

V1 now i think is lagging behind. Mine is too chatty to even use. the new escort detectors seem pretty good and they have one with the arrows now like a V1 but it's not as sensitive as their best one... i want sensitivity but accuracy

I only run Ka band and laser on my Redline. I see laser mostly on Westpark with Harris County Sheriff. Other than that, it's CO/IO Ka band on Texas State troopers on Westpark, 99, and Hwy 6 N/S going to/from College Station. Harris County Sheriff, Houston PD, Brazzos County Sheriff, Waller County PD and College Station PD mostly run Ka band.

I upgraded mine and it made it usable. All the Audi and Chevy ldpw systems made it go nuts. I still have an older version in my truck that hasn't been upgraded and it's annoying for sure.

Radar detector won't do squat against a cop that knows what he's doing.....if they're using a laser then if your detector "detects" it that means they already clocked you. If they are worth their salt they will watch traffic and visually verify your likely speeding with the radar locked. Once they unlock it yes....you'll know, but again it'll be to late. Still I suppose it'll save ya from some

Passports have always been my favorite because of the auto learn feature.

Those V1's go off ALL THE TIME. Eventually it's like the Boy Who Cried Wolf and I just ignore it. :(

That's REALLY old news. They have updates that filter out those false alerts caused by the alerts from other cars.(see Bryan's post above)
If you have one and it hasn't been updated, you will hate it. Get it fixed, and there's nothing even close....see the review posted above. I didn't write it; it's an independent test.
