You can use the punch and if careful will not screw up the castle nut.

Why are you dropping the engine? Need a replacement?

I've tried. Its offset on the frame a few inches and i can't get a good bite on it. I got a parts bike and I'm stripping it down.

use the 13/16 spark plug socket inside out? that's the only problem ive had pulling the motor the rest are pretty simple you can hold the right side and loosen the left sides.
