alpinestars t-stunt jacket, good or bad???

Hey whats up? I am a new rider and I have been eyesing the alpinestars t-stunt textile jacket. Since it is always burning up in Houston, i figured i would go for the textile.

I am looking for some reviews of this jacket from people who have them, even older models of the alpinestars textile. I understand it does not include a back protector, but in you guys' opinion, would it help with a fall? would it be a good idea to get one? I see about 1/2 the riders wearing jackets, and 1/2 i see don't.

I want to be one of the 1/2 who wears protection, so basically what my question is: How well would the alpinestars t-stunt textile jacket protect you if you fell at a slow speed?

Thanks for all feedback. heaven forbids i fall but happens ya know, so all feedback is appreciated.

I have one, and so far so good, comfortable and nice ventilation during summer. Has some foam in the back but not the certified protector. bike spat me out at under 25mph and other than having asphalt stain on it, no damage to the jacket or skin.

The liner really helps some during the winter but you will be cold.

Its comfortable the rain even with no liner, didnt get soaked inside.

my 2c.

thanks for your 2 cents, that makes me feel good about this jacket. especially that you had a minor fall and the jacket didn't rip.

I understand that the jacket has some foam in the back but is there a back protector you can buy for this jacket or it is what it is?

Thanks again flypunk.

anyone else???

I loved mine. Like said above, good ventilation, comfortable and has alot of protection for a mesh jacket. Im actually selling mine now because i bought an alpinestar leather jacket.

If it doesnt sell, ill have a good summer jacket for those smoking hot days!!

I have the same one as Neversatisfied. I love mine too. The shoulder armor came in handy too.

Yes they are bad jackets especially for being mesh. Prob the best made summer jacket ive seen.

Id buy mine anyways. Its like half the price and its black so it will match anything you got. , sell it for what you paid for it later! lol

that's a good thing! would you rather feel like you're wearing nothing at all or that there something between you and that concrete you're about to go sliding across?

Motorcycles Unlimited does have some badass jackets. When I ride on the street I wear perforated leather pants and jacket. I'd rather be hot and sweaty then raw and .

I've always been happy with my textile gear. I've hit the ground seven times in a day, but it was all on a dirt bike... I've known lots of people who've met Mr. Pavement in textile and mesh, and some are better than others. There isn't necessarily a clear line for fabric/material, but more likely the quality of the stitchwork, pad placement, density or armor, etc.

Quality mesh or textile gear is better than nothing, but leather is typically better in a slide on pavement. Get what you can afford and always wear your gear.
